Yamato Group opens its largest overseas logistics hub in India to support growing demand in the manufacturing sector.

Yamato Logistics India, a branch of the Tokyo-based Yamato Holdings, has launched its premier international logistics facility in Haryana. Located at NH8 Sidhrawali, this centre represents the largest overseas operation for the group, designed to address the escalating requirements of the Indian manufacturing sector.
The facility is strategically positioned to serve both domestic and international markets. It offers high-tier contract logistics that adhere to Japanese industrial standards, providing tailored solutions for manufacturers looking to scale production within India or expand into the Middle East and Africa. By utilising its global network and specialised expertise, the firm aims to streamline supply chain complexities for its clients.
India’s role as a global manufacturing and export hub is expanding rapidly, spurred by international supply chain shifts and national industrial initiatives. Significant growth is being seen in the production of semiconductors, automobiles, and electrical components. However, this progress has highlighted a pressing need for sophisticated logistics infrastructure and expert operators capable of managing intricate supply chains.
The NH8 Logistics Center is situated on a primary transport artery connecting the Delhi National Capital Region with major commercial hubs like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Its proximity to various industrial parks allows it to function as a vital gateway for assembly plants. Furthermore, its location near inland container depots and international airports makes it an efficient transit point for global trade.
Spanning approximately 24,900 square metres, the centre includes temperature-controlled zones specifically designed for sensitive components like circuit boards and precision machinery. Future developments at the site will focus on environmental sustainability, with plans to install solar power systems and deploy electric vehicle fleets to help clients reduce their carbon footprint.
The facility employs several specialised strategies to improve factory efficiency:
- Synchronised Delivery: Components are collected from various suppliers and delivered to production lines precisely when needed, reducing the requirement for excess on-site inventory.
- Quality Management: The centre implements continuous improvement methodologies to ensure high productivity and safety standards.
- Climate-Adapted Packaging: To safeguard goods against India’s high humidity and transit vibrations, the facility uses specialised rust-resistant materials and bespoke packaging techniques.
This expansion underlines the commitment of the group to the Indian market, identifying the region as a primary area for long-term economic growth and sustainable business transformation.
