Uttar Pradesh approves 38 private logistics and warehousing projects worth ₹2,600 crore, boosting jobs and industrial expansion.

In a major boost to industrial expansion and employment, Uttar Pradesh (UP) has approved 38 private logistics and warehousing projects worth ₹2,600 crore across multiple cities, including Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, and Rampur, according to senior officials from the UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA).
These initiatives fall under the state’s Warehousing & Logistics Policy 2022, designed to attract investment by offering incentives, tax exemptions, and financial support. The comprehensive policy aims to develop multi-modal logistics hubs, warehousing clusters, cold-storage units, and distribution centres across all 75 districts of the state, strengthening supply chain infrastructure from the ground up.
Calling it a significant milestone in the journey toward UP’s ambitious $1 trillion economy goal, a senior UPSIDA official said the state is prioritising logistics and warehousing as key growth engines. To ensure effective implementation, five projects worth ₹400 crore have already been issued unique identity markers to closely monitor progress.
To attract domestic and global investors, UPSIDA is expanding industrial land banks and equipping them with ‘plug-and-play’ manufacturing infrastructure, ensuring faster operational readiness. Supporting this growth, the authority’s budgetary allocation has surged to ₹6,190 crore in FY26, a massive jump from ₹415 crore in FY24, with funds channelled into roads, water and sewerage systems, and reliable power supply within industrial hubs.
Industrial land allotment in UP has witnessed dramatic expansion: from 114 acres in FY18, the figure has grown nearly fivefold to 526 acres in FY25. In the current fiscal year, UPSIDA has already allotted 88 acres through 261 plots.
Officials believe this wave of investment will generate large-scale employment, upgrade logistics efficiency, and significantly strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem, positioning the state as a rising powerhouse in India’s economic landscape.
