TVS ILP targets eastern and northeastern regions for expansion, facing unique challenges in land acquisition.
TVS Industrial & Logistics Parks (TVS ILP) is embarking on a new growth trajectory, eyeing the eastern and northeastern regions of India as the next frontier for expansion. With plans to establish a presence in Siliguri, Sikkim, and Guwahati, Assam, the company anticipates significant demand for warehousing space in these areas. Manikandan Ramachandran, the Chief Operating Officer of TVS ILP, underscores the company’s shift from South India to the eastern region as a primary focus.
Despite the promising outlook, TVS ILP faces challenges unique to the northeastern states, particularly in land acquisition. Ramachandran highlights the complexity of securing suitable land in these regions, compounded by cost considerations. However, the company remains optimistic about tapping into the burgeoning demand, especially in sectors such as fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), e-commerce, and pharmaceuticals.
By expanding its warehousing capacity to 13 million square feet by the next fiscal year and 20 million square feet by 2027, the company seeks to establish a nationwide network of logistics hubs strategically located near consumption centers.
With clients increasingly specifying a broader range of requirements, TVS ILP aims to set a new benchmark for Grade A facilities, reflecting the changing dynamics of the logistics sector.
