Texmaco acquires Jindal Rail for ₹615 crore, boosting wagon production and expanding market reach.
Texmaco Rail & Engineering, part of the Adventz Group, announced the acquisition of Jindal Rail Infrastructure Limited for Rs 615 crore. This strategic move significantly enhances Texmaco’s manufacturing capacity, making it the largest wagon producer in India.
The acquisition aligns with the growing demand in India’s wagon industry, supported by government policies for dedicated freight corridors. Jindal Rail, known for high-quality railway freight car products, brings expertise in specialized wagon designs and a robust manufacturing facility in Vadodara, Gujarat.
Texmaco’s Chairman, Saroj Kumar Poddar, emphasised that this acquisition will boost participation in both domestic and foreign markets, catalysing economic growth. The merger will enable Texmaco to explore new wagon types, scale up production, and enhance export capacity with minimal capital expenditure.
Additionally, Texmaco’s recent acquisition of a majority stake in Saira Asia and a joint venture with Czech freight maker Nymwag highlight the company’s aggressive expansion plans. A new factory is set to open in Sodepur soon, further bolstering Texmaco’s growth trajectory.
