Super Terminal Expo 2025 opens in Hong Kong with record attendance, new innovations, and strong government support.

Asia’s largest intermodal transport showcase, Super Terminal Expo 2025, officially opened this morning at AsiaWorld-Expo with a grand ceremony that underscored Hong Kong’s ambition to elevate its role as a global transport and logistics powerhouse. Distinguished guests included representatives from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Mable Chan, Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Fred Lam Tin-fuk GBS JP, Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong, and Margaret Connolly, President & CEO of Informa Markets in Asia. Their keynote speeches marked the commencement of the three-day event.
Reflecting on the expo’s rapid rise, Margaret Connolly highlighted strong industry demand: “After our inaugural 2024 event, the feedback was clear: Asia needed a dedicated platform for terminal developers, designers, operators, and suppliers to tackle shared challenges.” She emphasised how the expo injects renewed momentum into Asian intermodal hub development.
Government Backing Boosts Infrastructure Vision
Airport Authority Hong Kong Chairman Fred Lam stressed the strategic importance of continuous infrastructure investment: “Our three-runway system lays the foundation for long-term growth and stands among Hong Kong’s largest infrastructure projects.” He further noted new intermodal connectivity enabling Mainland passengers to seamlessly access the airport’s airside via bonded ferries, buses, and soon, private vehicle access, without clearing border controls. This approach, he said, continues to build investor confidence.
Institutional support is strong, with backing from the Belt and Road Office, the Transport and Logistics Bureau’s Working Group on Developing Low-Altitude Economy, and the Air Silk Road Forum, affirming government-driven collaboration.
Cross-Sector Collaboration Expands
Expanding beyond last year’s aviation focus, the 2025 edition now spans air cargo, rail, and low-altitude economy sectors. Over 100 leading brands, including ARUP, AECOM, NUTECH, NEC Hong Kong, SITA, and Weihai Guangtai, are showcasing digital hub solutions, green transport technologies, and intelligent logistics systems.
Record Attendance Fuels Business Opportunities
More than 200 key airports, ground handlers, airlines, and regulators are expected, setting the stage for high-value networking, community building, and commercial partnerships across Asia’s transport ecosystem.
Community-Driven Networking Highlights

Spotlight on Low-Altitude Economy
Hong Kong’s strategic placement within the Greater Bay Area, connected to nine Mainland cities and 86 million people, positions it ideally for low-altitude economy (LAE) development. Following the Government’s LAE Regulatory Sandbox launched in March, the expo hosts the Low-Altitude Economy Forum and the inaugural Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Awards co-hosted with Aviation Week Network.
On 5 November, attendees will explore next-generation urban air mobility alongside global innovators, investors, and regulators.
Super Terminal Expo 2025 firmly reinforces Hong Kong’s leadership in aviation, rail, and intermodal transport. By fostering innovation, sustainability, and strategic collaboration, the event accelerates the future of passenger and cargo movement across Asia.
