Bengaluru Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) initiates the Rs 1,770-crore project, spanning 400 acres at Obalapura. Slated for full-fledged construction in March, the MMLP aims to slash overall logistics costs from 13 percent to 9 percent by 2070, handling 30 million metric tonnes of cargo.
Strategically located, it integrates road, rail, and air connectivity, fostering industrial growth in Bengaluru, Tumakuru, and adjacent districts. The first phase, crucial for road connectivity, will conclude by 2026, followed by subsequent phases in 2034 and 2039.
Unique to the MMLP are 1.1-km-long sidings connecting it to the main railway line by 2028. The project is a joint venture with NHLML, KIADB, and Rail Vikas Nigam as stakeholders. PATH Bengaluru Logistics Park will construct and operate the MMLP under the DBFOT basis.
MMLP’s potential lies in sidings facilitating efficient cargo handling, minimising truck entry into Bengaluru, and easing traffic congestion. The MMLP signifies a significant step towards modernising logistics in South India.
