Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal embarks on France-Italy visit to deepen economic ties and attend key WTO and EU engagements.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal began a three-day official visit to France on June 1, 2025, marking the first leg of his strategic outreach tour to France and Italy from June 1–5. The visit aims to strengthen India’s economic and trade relations with key European and global partners.
In France, Shri Goyal is set to meet French Ministers of Economy and Trade—Eric Lombard and Laurent Saint-Martin—to discuss ways to deepen Indo-French economic collaboration and explore new investment avenues. The visit will also feature strategic business engagements, including interactions with top French companies such as Total Energies, L’Oréal, Renault, EDF, and participation in the India-France Business Round Table and CEO Forum.
The Minister will also attend the informal WTO Ministers’ meeting on the sidelines of the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting, representing India’s stance on global trade priorities.
Additionally, Shri Goyal will hold bilateral meetings with ministers from the UK, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Nigeria, and Brazil, and key EU officials, reinforcing India’s commitment to advancing multilateral cooperation and India-EU FTA negotiations.
After concluding the France visit, Shri Goyal will proceed to Italy for the next phase of his European engagement.
