In less than a year, the quickly expanding forwarder Scan Global Logistics (SGL) established a second office in the United Arab Emirates. SGL claimed that the new office’s location in the Abu Dhabi Airport Freezone would enable quick freight handling, including accelerated customs services. Because customs is close by, we can quickly evaluate packages arriving by air or ship and offer quick fixes. Customs optimization may save a lot of time and money while maintaining the efficiency of our customers’ crucial supply chains, according to Leslie Farnworth, general manager of Abu Dhabi.
We can deliver quick turnaround times, especially for our customers in the Abu Dhabi region, because of our close proximity to import and export gateways. Additionally, by working closely with our sister office, we can guarantee seamless operations for clients in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, including land transportation to our region’s neighbouring nations. “The inauguration of the Abu Dhabi office follows the trajectory of SGL’s expansion plan, growing our large, international network and delivering entrepreneurial logistics solutions to our global and regional customers,” continued Ayman Kabbara, managing director, UAE.
We look forward to offering effective logistics and assisting in de-complicating our customers’ lives thanks to Abu Dhabi’s logistical capabilities, connectivity, and strategic location as an important gateway to the African continent, Europe, and Asia.
SGL took advantage of the new no-local sponsor rule by establishing a wholly-owned company in Dubai in June. The business had a commercial presence in Dubai for a while before deciding to take advantage of UAE legislation that now permits 100per cent foreign ownership. SGL has been active in the acquisition arena as well. It announced the acquisition of American Freight Line, a sister firm based in the US, and AFL International Logistics, based in Germany, in August. The acquisition became SGL’s ninth of 2022. Sea-Air Logistics was also recently bought by it.
