Sanjiv Kapoor, former Jet Airways CEO, joins Saudia Group

Sanjiv Kapoor, a seasoned member of the aviation sector, has joined Saudia Group after resigning as CEO-Designate of Jet Airways last month. Saudia, formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, is the country’s flag carrier. Kapoor has held a variety of positions with several airlines, including SpiceJet, Vistara, and Go First.

He served as the Chief Executive Officer-designate of Jet Airways, which was grounded and for which the Jalan Kalrock Consortium was chosen as the successful bidder during the insolvency resolution process.

According to Kapoor’s LinkedIn post, aviation will be crucial to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aspires to bring 100 million tourists to the leading Gulf country. The transformation of Saudi Arabia’s advantageous geographic location into a global hub connecting three continents, Asia, Europe, and Africa, while also bringing 100 million yearly visitors to the Kingdom, is one of the three pillars of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, he stated. He continued, “Aviation will play a major role, and the role, transformation, and construction of Riyadh Air are crucial aspects of the strategy.
