Porter launches services in Calicut, Tiruppur, and Rajkot, aiming to empower SMEs and gig workers with scalable logistics.

Porter, India’s leading intra-city logistics service provider, has announced a significant multi-city expansion into Calicut (Kerala), Tiruppur (Tamil Nadu), and Rajkot (Gujarat). This strategic move aligns with the company’s annual goal to expand into 4-5 new cities, fostering a stronger and more inclusive logistics network across regional markets.
“Expanding into tier-II cities is a major step in Porter’s mission to transform intracity logistics across India,” stated Ankit Dwivedi, VP – Expansion Head at Porter. “By leveraging technology and local partnerships, we are creating flexible earning opportunities for gig workers and empowering MSMEs to overcome logistical challenges.”
Porter will initially offer two-wheeler services in these new locations, with plans to rapidly introduce additional vehicle categories, including three-wheelers, Tata Ace, and other Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs), Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs), and electric vehicles in the coming months. This comprehensive fleet aims to provide faster and more reliable intra-city deliveries across all geographies.
The expansion is specifically tailored to meet the unique logistical demands of each city: Calicut’s active trading market, Tiruppur’s high business-to-business (B2B) delivery needs as India’s garment hub, and Rajkot’s diverse industries and growing e-commerce sector. Porter’s offerings are designed to streamline logistics for SMEs by addressing issues such as unreliable operations, limited delivery options, and fragmented services. Large-volume SMEs will also benefit from Porter’s enterprise offerings, providing centralised management for goods transportation.
This strategic entry is poised to drive significant economic impact and job growth. Porter has already begun onboarding driver-partners in each city, setting the stage for substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities. The company targets serving 10,000-15,000 customers per city in its first year of operation, contributing meaningfully to the economic upliftment of these communities.
Porter’s latest expansion underscores its strong commitment to building a better, tech-enabled, and inclusive logistics network, improving each delivery step by step, and empowering businesses and individuals with scalable solutions.
