Commercial flights from Jewar airport to start post-Diwali, enhancing NCR air connectivity.

Noida International Airport at Jewar is set to begin commercial flight operations after Diwali, following its inauguration on October 30, 2025. The airport aims to significantly improve air connectivity for the National Capital Region.
Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu confirmed that flights would start within 45 days of the inauguration, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that operations will commence before year-end. The airport’s first phase, featuring a single runway and passenger terminal, can handle 12 million passengers annually. Key works such as technical installations, finishing touches, and deep cleaning are ongoing, alongside an Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) programme to ensure smooth functioning.
The CAT-III compliant runway will allow flights even in low-visibility conditions like winter fog. IndiGo has been confirmed as the launch carrier, with Akasa Air and other international airlines planning operations. Once fully completed by 2050, the airport will feature six runways, becoming India’s largest aviation hub.
