The Ministry of MSME has taken significant steps to support small businesses in global trade by setting up 65 Export Facilitation Centres (EFCs).

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has established 65 Export Facilitation Centres (EFCs) across its field offices, including MSME Development and Facilitation Offices, MSME Technology Centres, and MSME Testing Centres. These centres provide crucial support to MSMEs in documentation, market access, financing, technology adoption, and training to boost their export potential.
Additionally, the Ministry implements the International Cooperation (IC) Scheme, which assists first-time exporters under the Capacity Building for First Time Exporters (CBFTE) program. Under this scheme, new Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) receive reimbursement for costs related to Registration-cum-Membership Certification (RCMC), export insurance premiums, and testing & quality certification. The Market Development Assistance (MDA) component further aids MSMEs in participating in international exhibitions and trade fairs.
The MSME Champions Scheme, comprising the MSME-Sustainable (ZED) Certification Scheme, MSME-Competitive (LEAN) Scheme, and MSME-Innovative Scheme, aims to enhance global competitiveness. Other initiatives such as the Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme (TIES), Market Access Initiative (MAI), and Districts as Export Hubs are also helping MSMEs navigate export markets.
To further support MSMEs, the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme has been introduced to provide technological upgradation, market access, and credit linkages. Additionally, the Trade Connect e-Platform serves as an online gateway offering trade-related services for new and existing exporters.
The information was shared by Minister of State for MSME, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
