Maruti Suzuki India celebrates significant achievement in India’s automobile manufacturing industry.
Maruti Suzuki India has marked a significant milestone by commencing the export of its ‘Made-in-India’ SUV Fronx to Japan. This achievement represents a major step in the spirit of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, symbolising national pride and the growing global influence of India’s manufacturing sector. The Fronx, exclusively manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s state-of-the-art Gujarat plant, is the first SUV from the company to be launched in Japan. The initial consignment of over 1,600 vehicles has already departed from Gujarat’s Pipavav port.
The Fronx, an award-winning model, is the second vehicle from Maruti Suzuki to be exported to Japan, following the Baleno in 2016. The SUV is set to be launched in Japan by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Maruti Suzuki’s parent company, in the autumn of 2024. This milestone exemplifies the growing strength and global reach of India’s automobile manufacturing industry.
Commenting on this historic achievement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, stated, “I am proud to share that our ‘Made-in-India’ Fronx will soon be seen on the roads in Japan. Japan is one of the most quality-conscious and advanced automobile markets in the world. Our export to Japan is a testament of Maruti Suzuki’s capability to manufacture world-class vehicles that exemplify cutting-edge technology, exceptional performance, internationally recognized safety, and quality standards.”
