Maersk, a leading integrated logistics company, is set to enhance its cold chain logistics presence with a new 260,000 sq. ft cold store facility in Mehsana, Gujarat. Tailored for HyFun Foods, the facility will offer temperature-controlled storage for frozen processed food items, addressing the critical need for unbroken cold chain solutions.
Located near the customer’s manufacturing unit, the 14,700-pallet position cold store at Fanidhar Mega Food Park is poised to be one of India’s largest single-shed facilities. Maersk’s holistic approach includes the Captain Peter solution, a remote container management system ensuring real-time visibility in cold chain transportation, monitoring crucial elements for logistics integrity.
Notably, Maersk’s commitment extends to sustainability, with the facility powered by solar energy aligning with the company’s NetZero by 2040 targets. The construction integrates green building requirements, emphasising rain harvesting, STP, and zero discharge. Maersk’s strategic investment aims to revolutionise the cold chain landscape, ensuring efficient and sustainable logistics solutions.
