Kuehne+Nagel launches a 3,500 sqm CFS near JNPA, strengthening sea freight efficiency and sustainability.

Kuehne+Nagel has inaugurated a new, built-to-suit 3,500 square metre Container Freight Station (CFS) in Mumbai, strengthening its Sea Logistics network in India and supporting the country’s rapidly expanding trade requirements.
Strategically located near the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s largest seaport, the new facility offers direct access to a key maritime gateway that handles a significant share of the nation’s containerised cargo, enabling quicker turnaround times and more efficient cargo movement.
Designed for scalable operations, the CFS supports efficient cargo handling and value-added logistics services while adhering to stringent safety and security protocols. The facility features end-to-end surveillance and complies with global standards including CTPAT, AEO and ISO certifications.
Sustainability is embedded into the facility’s design, with electric material-handling equipment and solar-powered lighting deployed to minimise environmental impact and support greener logistics operations.
Commenting on the development, Anish Kumar Jha, Managing Director for Kuehne+Nagel India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, said the new CFS enables faster and more connected operations, helping customers move shipments efficiently and reliably while supporting their evolving logistics needs.
The launch comes as India moves towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy within this decade. With over 70 per cent of the country’s trade transported by sea, demand for modern, efficient and sustainable logistics infrastructure continues to rise, reinforcing India’s growing role in global trade.
