Kerala’s new logistics policy encourages large and mini parks, creating jobs and easing investment.
The Kerala State Cabinet has approved a comprehensive logistics park policy aimed at enhancing investment and employment in the state. The policy promotes the development of large-scale logistics parks covering at least 10 acres and mini-logistics parks on five acres, offering essential infrastructure such as cargo handling, intermodal transfer facilities, and internal road networks.
A high-level Logistics Coordination Committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary, will oversee the policy’s implementation, alongside a dedicated State Logistics Cell under the Industry Department. City-level logistics committees will also be established to address urban logistics infrastructure needs.
To incentivize development, the policy introduces a single-window clearance system and offers capital subsidies of up to ₹7 crore for logistics parks and ₹3 crore for mini-logistics parks. Additionally, stamp duty and registration fees will be waived for land acquisition or leasing. The policy encourages public-private partnerships, as well as fully private sector-led projects.
