JSW Infrastructure allocates ₹2,359 crore to expand capacity at Jaigarh and Dharamtar Ports, aiming to nearly double throughput by FY2030.
JSW Infrastructure, a leading private port operator in India, has sanctioned a capital expenditure of ₹2,359 crore to enhance its Jaigarh and Dharamtar Ports in Maharashtra. This initiative is part of the company’s ambitious FY2030 growth strategy to increase its total capacity from 170 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) to 400 MTPA.
The approved plan includes expanding Dharamtar Port’s capacity by 21 MTPA and Jaigarh Port’s by 15 MTPA. The expansion involves mechanical, civil, and electrical work for new berths and additional infrastructure, including a railway siding at Jaigarh Port to facilitate increased third-party cargo movement.
Following the expansion, Jaigarh Port’s capacity will rise from 55 MTPA to 70 MTPA, while Dharamtar Port’s capacity will increase from 34 MTPA to 55 MTPA. This growth is driven by rising cargo volumes from an upcoming 5 MTPA steel plant at Dolvi, Maharashtra. The expansion is expected to enhance cargo handling by approximately 27 MTPA, with completion projected by March 2027.
