Union Minister Vaishnaw unveils a new policy and VVDN facility as electronics exports soar sixfold in a decade.

In a landmark moment for India’s export economy, Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that electronics exports have grown sixfold in the last decade, crossing ₹3.25 lakh crore. The announcement came during the inauguration of VVDN Technologies’ state-of-the-art SMT line and Mechanical Innovation Park in Manesar.
Shri Vaishnaw also introduced the newly approved Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme, aimed at strengthening India’s self-reliance and boosting global competitiveness in electronics exports. This scheme, covering passive components to complement the National Semiconductor Mission, is expected to deepen India’s integration in global supply chains.
India’s total electronics production now stands at ₹11 lakh crore, with the sector employing over 25 lakh people. The minister highlighted that India’s rising quality standards, stronger IP protection, and expanding design capabilities are winning global trust and driving export growth.
The new SMT line at VVDN—the largest of its kind—will enable mass production of export-ready AI servers, motherboards, and networking devices. Combined with the new Mechanical Innovation Park, these facilities will not only boost capacity but also generate over 3,000 high-skilled jobs, enhancing India’s manufacturing for export potential.
With over 5,000 engineers and 11 R&D centres, VVDN exemplifies design-led, export-orientated innovation. Shri Vaishnaw emphasised that India’s future in electronics lies in a strong ecosystem built on trusted manufacturing, advanced R&D, and global market alignment.
The event underscored how progressive policy, industry investment, and skilled manpower are propelling India to become a global electronics export powerhouse.
