Robotic dogs join the Indian Army’s logistics fleet, enhancing efficiency in tough terrains.
The Indian Army has introduced 100 robotic dogs, known as Multi-Utility Legged Equipment (MULEs), to transform logistics operations in challenging terrains. These advanced machines are designed to optimise supply chain efficiency, streamline transport in rugged areas, and reduce risks to personnel during operations.
MULEs will play a critical role in transporting supplies, surveillance, and logistics support in remote regions where traditional vehicles face limitations. The robotic dogs were recently unveiled during the Southern Command Investiture Ceremony at the BEG & Centre Parade Ground in Pune, presided over by Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth.
This technological advancement reflects the army’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge solutions into its logistics framework. The upcoming 77th Army Day Parade will further showcase these robotic dogs, highlighting their potential in enhancing operational readiness. The addition of MULEs signals a forward-thinking approach to modernise military logistics and ensure seamless support in complex terrains.
