Sonowal highlights Modi Govt’s reforms and youth-led innovation as key drivers of India’s economic and trade growth.

Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal asserted that India is on course to becoming the world’s third-largest economy by 2029, driven by 11 years of policy reforms under the Modi government. Speaking at a press conference in Dibrugarh, Sonowal emphasised the shift from dynastic rule to delivery-oriented governance, citing massive strides in infrastructure, trade facilitation, and poverty alleviation.
He said over 25 crore Indians have moved out of poverty, India’s startup base has grown to 1 lakh, and welfare schemes like PM-KISAN and PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana have reached millions. On the trade front, he spotlighted the ₹4.5 lakh crore investment intent from the ‘Rising Northeast’ summit, improved port connectivity in Assam, and the Sagarmala green port development as proof of India’s EXIM transformation.
Sonowal credited youth, women, and farmers as pillars of this growth and stated that India is no longer seen as a nation of missed chances, but as one destined to lead.
