India and Russia reaffirm ties, signing a protocol to expand cooperation in aluminium, mining, railways, and fertilizers.

The 11th session of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation convened on August 6 at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi. The meeting was held under the broader India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission framework, aiming to strengthen bilateral economic and industrial collaboration.
The session was co-chaired by Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, DPIIT, and H.E. Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Delegates reviewed progress since the last meeting and discussed updates from sub-groups covering modernization, mining, fertilisers, and railway transport.
Key areas of cooperation included aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, carbon fibre development, and underground coal gasification. Both nations emphasised enhanced collaboration in critical minerals, aluminium, and small aircraft engine production.
The discussions concluded with the signing of a formal Protocol, reaffirming the commitment to deepen strategic and industrial ties. The session saw participation from nearly 80 delegates, including senior officials, industry experts, and stakeholders from both countries.
