MoU signed to advance semiconductor training in transportation and logistics sectors.

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) and the Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), Mohali, signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this week to enhance education, research, training, and internships in semiconductor technology, particularly for the transportation and logistics sectors.
The agreement reflects India’s growing emphasis on semiconductor manufacturing under the India Semiconductor Mission, recognising the critical role electronics and semiconductors play in the evolution of sectors like railways, aviation, and maritime.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of GSV; Dr. Kamaljeet Singh, Director General of SCL; Sh. S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY); Sh. Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY and CEO, India Semiconductor Mission; Manoj Jain, CMD, Bharat Electronics; and Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, MeitY.
Dr. Kamaljeet Singh, Director General of SCL, was instrumental in formalising this collaboration, which is expected to build a robust pipeline of skilled professionals and boost research capacities in India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
