The recently concluded Global Maritime India Summit 2023 has achieved a momentous milestone by securing investment commitments amounting to Rs.10 lakh crore. This significant influx of funds marks a major step towards the realisation of the sector’s ambitious Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, a transformative initiative aimed at propelling India’s maritime industry into a dynamic and sustainable future.
During the summit’s valedictory session, Union Shipping and Waterways Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, unveiled this remarkable achievement and emphasised the nation’s unwavering commitment to enhancing its maritime infrastructure, particularly through the development of eco-friendly and sustainable “green ports.” The substantial investments pledged during the event are poised to drive innovation, infrastructure expansion, and job creation, ultimately bolstering the maritime sector’s vital role in India’s economic growth and global trade.
