Gati, an Allcargo Group firm, has teamed with Schneider Electric, an energy management and automation company, to develop greener logistics solutions.
During the first phase of the relationship, Gati only used alternative fuel trucks to pick up consignments from Schneider Electric’s key distribution sites in Kundli, Haryana; Bhiwandi, Maharashtra; and Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As a result, alternative fuel trucks are already being used for delivery in Gurugram.
In addition to providing low-emission long-haul transportation, Gati will manage local deliveries in Gurugram for Schneider Electric using a fleet of alternative fuel vehicles under the greener logistics agreement. “The deployment of alternative fuel vehicles is part of our mission to boost environmental sustainability in express distribution and support the government in reducing carbon footprints,” said Pirojshaw Sarkari, CEO of Gati. We are excited to collaborate with Schneider Electric to develop greener logistics solutions that align with our objective of adopting green mobility. For pan-India transportation and delivery, we have an ongoing express distribution cooperation with Schneider Electric.
The most recent green logistics collaboration will strengthen our relationship with them even further. We are excited to help Schneider Electric achieve its sustainability goals. We anticipate that this collaboration will serve as the foundation for a broader collaboration aimed at developing ecologically sustainable and effective express distribution services.”
