Frankfurt Hahn Airport partners with Bengaluru’s BLR Cargo to expand air cargo links between South India and Europe.
In a significant step towards strengthening air cargo connections between India and Europe, Frankfurt Hahn Airport has announced a strategic partnership with BLR Cargo, the cargo division of Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR Airport). The alliance, revealed at a recent event in Bengaluru, aims to establish direct routes and increase trade volume between South India and Central Europe.
Frankfurt Hahn Airport’s CEO, Ruediger Franke, underscored South India’s growth potential and highlighted the limited current connections to Central Europe. With Hahn Airport’s unrestricted 24/7 operations and large cargo handling capacity, the partnership aims to meet rising trade demands, enabling continuous air cargo movement without night curfews or slot restrictions.
BLR Cargo’s Senior Manager, Fletcher Samuel, expressed that the collaboration would bolster economic growth and industry competitiveness across regions. Key presentations at the event also emphasised future facility expansions, sustainable operations, and the integration of advanced e-commerce and logistics technology for enhanced efficiency.
