Pioneering sustainable logistics with Kalyani Powertrain and Dalmia Cement

Flytta has unveiled the nation’s first retrofitted electric truck in the 13-ton payload capacity category, developed in collaboration with Kalyani Powertrain Limited (KPTL) and deployed with Dalmia Cement. Designed for heavy-duty operations across ghat roads and industrial corridors, the vehicle represents a major leap toward green logistics and industrial decarbonisation.
Custom-engineered by KPTL, the truck is built to handle the high-load demands of cement logistics while ensuring zero tailpipe emissions. The first fleet has already begun operations along the Yadwad–Goa corridor, with Flytta planning to roll out 200 such retrofitted electric trucks in the coming months.
With this launch, Flytta evolves into a fully integrated EV trucking platform, offering payload capacities from 13 to 40 tons across multiple industrial applications including cement, steel, coal, and minerals.
Rahul Kanuganti, CEO, Flytta, called the initiative “a defining moment for sustainable logistics in India,” highlighting how industry collaboration can accelerate the shift to clean mobility without compromising operational efficiency.
Pankaj Sonalkar, MD, KPTL, emphasised that “advanced retrofitting technology can fast-track India’s transition to electric mobility,” while Srawan Agarwal, AED of Logistics at Dalmia Cement, noted that “adopting EVs in logistics is key to achieving India’s carbon neutrality and energy independence goals.”
This initiative showcases how collaborative innovation can redefine logistics sustainability and shape the future of industrial transportation in India.
