The Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FFFAI) hosted the International Women’s Day celebrations at Mumbai headquarters on March 8, 2023. Members of the FFFAI Women’s Wing joined in person and online.
The Additional Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva, Mamta Saini, was the chief guest. She shared her journey and highlighted that when women move into the professional world, they proficiently handle their assigned jobs and household responsibilities. She applauded the female Customs Brokers and how impressive and inspiring they were.
Dr. Swati Pitale, Principal, S.D. College was the special guest for the event. She acknowledged it as an excellent occasion to sign an MoU with FFFAI to undertake joint activities for capacity building, knowledge creation programs, and research projects for logistics. As per the MoU, the two parties will collaborate to conduct FFFAI-approved courses, joint research in common interest areas, and promotional activities.
FFFAI Chairman, Shankar Shinde, congratulated the women and acknowledged the changing dynamics of logistics that are creating growth opportunities for women. The organisation’s Vice Chairman, Sudip Dey, highlighted the present and future scenarios of the industry and career options available for the aspirants.
Chaitaly Mehta, Convenor, FFFAI Women’s Wing, called logistics the backbone for worldwide trade and the global economy. She invited more women to join this dynamic sector.
FFFAI Women’s Wing’s mentor, Philomena Pereira, pointed out the many business verticals offering a career option to those passionate about making their dreams a reality. Other participants at the occasion were Hemal Joshi, Madhu Daga, Rita Guha, Sreelatha, Divya Shetty, and Rajshree Verma.
