225 exporters meet in Surat to strategise new markets, tackle steep US tariffs, and expand India’s global reach.

In a decisive move to strengthen India’s export momentum, 225 exporters and aspiring exporters from across the country gathered in Surat for the Being Exporter Grand Meet, a national-level event focused on countering the challenges posed by the United States’ recent 50% tariff hike on Indian products.
The participants, representing sectors from rubber, plastics, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals to nutraceuticals, agro products, and engineering goods, reported active trade links across 90 countries. The gathering was less about networking and more about shaping strategies to find new markets, forge partnerships, and protect India’s position in global supply chains.
“This was not just an event; it was a strategic response to a shifting trade landscape,” said Bhagirath Goswami, founder of Being Exporter. “The diversity of industries here proves India can lead across sectors, even in challenging conditions.”
Sessions focused on sharing market intelligence, identifying high-potential regions beyond the US, and enhancing India’s role in both emerging and established markets. The meet also saw exporters pledge to expand their global footprint, strengthen buyer relationships, and reinforce India’s reliability as a supplier despite external pressures.
With the “Make in India” mission at the forefront, the Surat gathering marked a united front from India’s exporters to adapt, innovate, and thrive in a tougher global trade environment.
