Etihad Airways, the UAE’s flag carrier, ushers in 2024 by introducing daily non-stop services from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in the vibrant Kerala region of India. The airline announced this strategic move on New Year’s Day, marking a significant expansion of its Indian gateway connections.
With these additions, Etihad now serves a total of 10 Indian gateways, providing passengers easier access to its growing global network without transiting through major Indian hub airports. Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad, emphasised the establishment of a robust group of non-stop routes between India and Abu Dhabi, ensuring seamless connections for travelers.
Neves highlighted the practical connections at Abu Dhabi, allowing guests to access destinations across the GCC, Europe, and North America, with the added benefit of enjoying a stopover in Abu Dhabi as an integral part of their journey.
Looking ahead, Etihad has announced plans for new flights to Boston, USA, starting March 31, Nairobi, Kenya, on May 1, and an inaugural non-stop service to Nice, France, as well as direct flights to the Greek Isles of Mykonos and Santorini in its summer schedule for 2024.
