Jeddah Logistics Park to Elevate Saudi Arabia’s Trade Infrastructure.
DP World and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) have embarked on the construction of a SAR900 million ($250 million) logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port, signaling a significant advancement in the kingdom’s trade infrastructure.
Spanning an expansive 415,000 square meters, the Jeddah Logistics Park will emerge as the largest integrated logistics hub in Saudi Arabia. It will comprise 185,000 square meters of warehousing space alongside a versatile storage yard, boasting a capacity exceeding 390,000 pallet positions. This state-of-the-art facility is poised to streamline the flow of goods in and out of Jeddah, elevating the port’s stature as a pivotal trade gateway.
Scheduled for completion in two phases, with an anticipated opening in Q2 2025, the Jeddah Logistics Park will also feature a rooftop solar plant generating 20MW of renewable energy, showcasing a commitment to sustainability.
The collaboration between Mawani and DP World underpins this ambitious initiative, building upon their partnership in managing the South Container Terminal. With separate 30-year concessions, DP World is leading a comprehensive modernization project at the terminal, slated for conclusion in Q4 2024. This transformation will escalate handling capacity to five million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), reinforcing Jeddah’s position as a maritime powerhouse.
By seamlessly integrating port operations with last-mile activities and value-added services, the Jeddah Logistics Park will provide crucial support to importers and exporters, contributing to the kingdom’s economic diversification goals.
