In a strategic move toward environmental sustainability, Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and Indraprastha Gas (IGL) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the implementation of LNG infrastructure.
This initiative will commence at CONCOR’s Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat terminals, beginning with the Dadri facility. The collaboration’s primary focus is to evaluate the feasibility of integrating LNG-powered engines, replacing conventional diesel engines in multiple CONCOR terminals.
Moreover, the partnership aims to investigate the future prospect of transporting LNG through railway rakes from sea port terminals to other destinations across India. By emphasising the transition from diesel to natural gas, CONCOR and IGL are championing a cleaner, greener future for the logistics sector, aligning with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and set new industry benchmarks.
