French logistics leader CMA CGM and Italy’s GTS General Transport Service unite to establish European Container Network, aiming to revolutionise transportation and logistics across Italy and Europe.
French logistics powerhouse CMA CGM and Italy’s esteemed intermodal company, GTS General Transport Service, have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking joint venture. Named European Container Network, the collaboration seeks to introduce reliable, affordable, and eco-friendly transportation and logistics services throughout Italy and Europe.
According to a statement from CMA CGM, the joint venture will harness the collective expertise and resources of both entities to deliver innovative and sustainable transportation solutions to containerised businesses across the region. Leveraging GTS’s extensive assets, expertise, and network in Italy and beyond, alongside CMA CGM’s global shipping capabilities, the partnership aims to provide integrated door-to-door transportation services, bolstering market efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.
Alessio Muciaccia, CEO of GTS, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the seamless and sustainable solutions that will result from combining GTS’s intermodal rail transportation strengths with CMA CGM’s logistics prowess.
