China Cargo Airlines begins Shanghai to Budapest cargo flights, enhancing CEE trade links.
China Cargo Airlines has inaugurated its first dedicated cargo flight from Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) to Budapest Airport (BUD). The service, operated with a Boeing 777F aircraft, will run thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting July 30.
Shanghai Pudong Airport, the world’s third largest cargo hub by turnover last year, now links directly with Budapest, offering significant opportunities for export and import activities. This new route is poised to benefit both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinational companies in Hungary and the broader Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. Budapest Airport noted on LinkedIn that this development further cements BUD’s role as a major cargo hub in CEE.
Additionally, China Cargo Airlines has signed a block space agreement with Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. This partnership allows China Cargo Airlines to utilise Air France’s belly capacity for shipments from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to São Paulo Guarulhos Airport, expanding their global reach.
