On 22.02.2025, Chennai Port successfully executed a simultaneous RoRo operation on two vessels—M.V. GRAND HERO and M.V. GRAND MARK—boosting automobile exports and reinforcing its position as a premier automobile handling hub.
Record Gate Movement Post Buffer Yard Operationalisation
The Buffer Parking Yard has significantly improved gate movement efficiency, reducing congestion. On 20.02.2025, Chennai Port handled 6,256 trailers (in/out), surpassing its previous record of 6,087 trailers (in/out) on 21.06.2023.
