Teamwork and advanced systems helped the port achieve the new record.

Adani Krishnapatnam Port (AKPL), a principal holding of Adani Ports and SEZ, has marked a historic achievement in its cargo operations by handling a record 132,800 Metric Tonnes (MT) in a single day. This performance exceeds the previous high of 131,966 MT, showcasing the port’s consistent pursuit of operational efficiency and excellence.
This new benchmark was reached through the combined efforts of the port’s operations, logistics, and engineering staff, supported by its modern mechanised systems.
AKPL also recorded its highest-ever monthly volume of fertiliser cargo, reinforcing its significance as a crucial gateway for the import of agricultural goods and its commitment to operational mastery.
Highest Monthly Fertiliser Cargo: 0.43 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) handled, substantially surpassing the prior record of 0.36 MMT.
The port’s cutting-edge Automated Fertiliser Handling System has ensured quick turnaround times for ships, allowing the essential fertilisers to reach farmers without delay. Moreover, AKPL’s superior road and rail links have smoothed nationwide distribution, thereby backing initiatives by the Government of India and the Government of Andhra Pradesh aimed at empowering the farming community.
Management at Adani Krishnapatnam Port commented: “This new record of 132,800 MT in one day is a testament to the dedication of our personnel and the strength of our technology. Our mechanised systems have been crucial in improving operational efficiency while simultaneously ensuring reduced emissions and a faster supply chain for our clientele. We take pride in contributing to the nation’s growth in trade.”
These dual achievements in cargo handling, particularly the record monthly volume for fertiliser, underscore AKPL’s central function in supporting the Indian agricultural sector by guaranteeing the prompt and effective movement of vital commodities. AKPL continues to solidify its status as a critical hub for fertiliser importation and distribution along India’s east coast, playing an essential part in boosting agricultural output and promoting rural development.
