The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is actively engaged in reestablishing flights from Mysuru to Kochi and Belagavi, routes that were previously halted. Member of Parliament Pratap Simha conveyed this after participating in a recent Airport Advisory Committee meeting at Mysuru Airport. The AAI is also striving to attract new airlines and routes to provide residents of Mysuru with sought-after connectivity to major cities.
During the meeting, discussions included the ongoing process of land acquisition, with MP Simha urging expeditious actions to complete expansion-related land acquisition procedures. Currently catering to approximately 350 passengers daily, Mysuru Airport offers connections to Chennai, Goa, and Hyderabad through Alliance Air and Indigo flights, boasting an impressive occupancy rate of over 80 percent.
