Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has called for an extended concession period of at least 50 years and a robust dispute resolution mechanism in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for infrastructure projects. Speaking at the 3rd Global Maritime India Summit 2023 roadshow, Subrat Tripathy, CEO (Ports) of Adani Ports and SEZ, highlighted that a 30-year concession period may not be adequate and advocated for a 50-year period to attract investors and ensure sustained revenues.
He praised the West Bengal government’s 99-year concession period for the Tajpur deep sea port. Tripathy also emphasised the importance of transparent dispute resolution mechanisms and exit policies to build investor trust. Adani Ports is eager to proceed with the Tajpur project pending the Letter of Agreement from the state government.
