SHM Shipcare holds a beach clean-up at Dadar Kirti College Beach with the University of Mumbai.

SHM Shipcare, an integrated maritime company engaged in shipbuilding, ship repair, ship management and maritime safety, has extended its coastal clean-up initiative to Mumbai. The drive, held at Dadar Kirti College Beach in partnership with the University of Mumbai, marks the third phase of the company’s coastal conservation programme, following earlier clean-ups in Surat and Goa.
Held under the theme “A Cleaner Coast Starts with Champions Who Act,” the initiative brought volunteers together to remove litter from the shoreline and promote responsible waste disposal. The programme was conceptualised around the birthday of SHM Shipcare Chairman Saifuddin Hajee. Mohammed Hajee, CEO of Marine & Fire Safety at SHM Shipcare, said protecting the coastal environment was a shared responsibility and that small, consistent efforts could meaningfully improve coastline health. The drive forms part of SHM Shipcare’s wider CSR engagement supporting coastal conservation across India.
