New Delhi and Washington push forward on an ambitious plan to more than double bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.

India and the United States are advancing Mission 500 Billion, an ambitious initiative aimed at expanding bilateral trade between the two countries to $500 billion by 2030, as negotiations on a comprehensive India-US trade agreement move closer to completion. The mission focuses on strengthening cooperation across trade, manufacturing, technology and investment while creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries, with negotiators from New Delhi and Washington working to conclude the bilateral trade agreement. Achieving the target would require substantial growth in merchandise exports, services, investment flows and technology collaboration, with negotiations covering reduced tariffs on selected products, improved market access for agricultural and industrial goods, simplified customs procedures and strengthened supply chain resilience. The initiative also seeks to deepen cooperation in advanced manufacturing, technology and strategic industries as the two nations expand collaboration in clean energy, semiconductors and digital technologies.
