Shri Amrit Lal Meena among experts named to the high-level panel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the constitution of a high-powered task force to recommend reforms to India’s examination system and strengthen measures to prevent paper leaks and examination-related malpractices. The panel will propose measures to improve the transparency, integrity and efficiency of public examinations.
Among the members of the task force is Amrit Lal Meena, a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, who has been included as a logistics expert. Meena previously served as Special Secretary (Logistics) in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and later as Coal Secretary in the Government of India. He was appointed Chief Secretary of Bihar in 2024 after serving on central deputation. While media reports in 2024 referred to alleged irregularities in the recruitment of General Managers in Coal India Limited, there is no official or judicial finding linking Meena personally to any wrongdoing in the matter.
