SriLankan Cargo partners with WebCargo by Freightos to offer real-time digital access to global freight forwarders.

SriLankan Cargo, the cargo division of SriLankan Airlines, has partnered with WebCargo by Freightos, a global freight booking and payment platform. This collaboration enables over 10,000 freight forwarders worldwide to access SriLankan Cargo’s real-time capacity, pricing, and booking options directly through the platform.
The move marks a significant step in the airline’s digital transformation, allowing for smoother booking, instant payment processing, and broader customer access. According to Chaminda Perera, Head of Cargo at SriLankan Airlines, this partnership increases visibility during freight procurement and positions the airline for wider market reach.
Freightos CEO Zvi Schreiber noted that SriLankan’s integration brings much-needed regional capacity into the platform, particularly strengthening access to South Asian routes, including India and Colombo.
The alliance also enables non-IATA forwarders in Asia to book cargo space via WebCargo Pay, eliminating the need for traditional credit lines. Additionally, the partnership will support multi-carrier route bookings through WebCargo’s interlining features, enhancing connectivity and optimising airline load factors across partner networks.
