AIR ONE proves its outsize cargo expertise with a seamless 12-metre shipment from Liège to Abu Dhabi for Deugro.

In a striking display of outsize cargo expertise, AIR ONE has successfully transported eight massive furnace coil boxes, each 12 metres long and weighing a combined 57 tonnes, from Liège, Belgium, to Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The complex delivery was executed on behalf of Deugro Abu Dhabi, using a nose-loading Boeing 747-400 freighter from AIR ONE’s affiliated UK-based airline, One Air. The operation made full use of the aircraft’s unique nose door feature to accommodate the oversized load.
This project not only showcased AIR ONE’s technical capability in managing such intricate charters but also highlighted the value of its growing fleet. The company currently oversees 11 Boeing 747-400Fs across its network of airline partners, including two equipped with the rare and highly capable nose-loading configuration.
Saeed Ghodrat, Senior Charter Manager at AIR ONE, shared: “The addition of a second nose-loading 747-400 to our fleet at the end of 2024 has significantly strengthened our ability to handle out-of-gauge shipments like these. Our in-depth knowledge of the 747 platform, coupled with our operational coordination, enables us to provide quick-response solutions for oversized cargo and complex project logistics.”
The Deugro team echoed this sentiment, applauding AIR ONE’s precision and professionalism throughout the operation. Pavel Kuznetsov and Salvatore Bruno from Deugro’s air chartering team praised the “seamless coordination” and “on-point updates” that ensured the cargo reached Abu Dhabi on time and without a hitch.
Ilyas Abdulla, Head of Business Development & Sales at Deugro Abu Dhabi, added: “We’re impressed by the reliability and service quality AIR ONE delivered. Their commitment to schedule and clarity in communication stood out.”
With over 3,750 full charters and 345,000 tonnes of cargo moved to more than 100 destinations in the last five years, AIR ONE continues to establish itself as a go-to logistics partner for complex and oversized air cargo requirements.
