Sonowal urges students to innovate and embrace value-based learning for shaping a progressive and empowered India.

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, emphasised the power of knowledge and youth as essential pillars in building a developed India. Speaking at the 20th Foundation Day of Sreeram Academy, Pathsala, he urged students to think beyond textbooks and contribute through innovation and fresh ideas.
Highlighting national initiatives such as Digital India, Make in India, and Skill India, Sonowal said these programmes aim to empower the younger generation to lead with confidence and creativity. Addressing a gathering of students, teachers, parents, alumni, and local dignitaries, he underlined the transformative role of education rooted in moral values.
Sonowal also called upon parents to nurture responsible citizens and stressed the importance of integrating Yoga and holistic health practices into daily life. “Yoga provides clarity, balance, and strength—both mental and physical,” he said.
The event featured vibrant cultural performances by students, showcasing their artistic talents. Dignitaries present included MLA Phanidhar Talukdar, Bhattadev University Vice-Chancellor Dhanpati Deka, and Principal Dr. Kakali Das, making the occasion a significant milestone for the academy.
