Uber rolls out Courier XL for intra-city delivery of larger packages via 3- and 4-wheelers.

Ride-hailing giant Uber has expanded its same-day delivery offering with the launch of Courier XL—an intra-city courier service using three- and four-wheeler vehicles for transporting larger packages. Earlier, Uber’s courier feature was limited to two-wheelers handling parcels under 5 kg.
According to Uber’s app, packages up to 500 kg can now be delivered via three-wheelers like the Bajaj Maxima, while those weighing between 500–750 kg are eligible for four-wheelers such as the Tata Ace. The service, piloted in Bengaluru, has now been extended to major metros, including Delhi.
This expansion positions Uber in direct competition with logistics startups like Porter, which already operate similar delivery models. Industry observers suggest that Uber’s entry into this segment reflects rising demand due to e-commerce growth and hints at potential inter-city logistics ambitions.
Uber continues to evolve in India’s dynamic mobility market, also recently launching a commission-free SaaS platform for auto drivers, as it faces increasing pressure from players like Rapido, Namma Yatri, and the government-backed Sahkar Taxi.
