Teleport ramps up next-day air cargo between China and Southeast Asia, aiming to slash delivery times amid booming e-commerce demand.
Teleport, a prominent logistics provider based in Malaysia, is intensifying its efforts to streamline e-commerce air cargo operations between China and Southeast Asia, aiming to offer next-day delivery services. This strategic move comes as demand for faster and more efficient cross-border logistics solutions continues to rise in the region.
During Teleport’s recent media briefing in China on June 20, Janson Peng, Commercial Country Head at Teleport China, highlighted the company’s commitment to improving the efficiency of the e-commerce supply chain. Peng emphasized that the current standard for cross-border e-commerce shipments from China to Southeast Asia averages about five days. This timeframe includes one to one and a half days for merchants to prepare parcels for shipment and approximately four days for transit from warehouses in China to destinations across Southeast Asia.
Peng stated, “We have the capability to reduce the four-day delivery time between China and Southeast Asia to as fast as next-day delivery, while ensuring affordability.” This ambitious goal is supported by Teleport’s robust air network and recent fleet expansions, including the addition of 10 A321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft. Currently, Teleport operates three A321Fs and anticipates receiving all 10 by the end of this year, significantly enhancing its cargo capacity and operational flexibility.
Established in 2018, Teleport consolidated belly capacity from all AirAsia airlines into a unified network and has since augmented its capabilities with partnerships with third-party airlines. Operating in China since 2019, Teleport’s air logistics network connects 19 cities in China to 85 cities across Southeast Asia, enabling a high frequency of flights—currently averaging 2,214 flights per month. This extensive network positions Teleport as a leading player in air cargo connectivity between China and Southeast Asia.
