AD Ports Group and Chittagong Port Authority signed an MoU to explore the future development of Chittagong’s Multi-Purpose Terminal.
AD Ports Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chittagong Port Authority to enhance trade and investment. This collaboration focuses on the future development and operation of the Multi-Purpose Terminal at Chittagong Port, as well as exploring other ancillary opportunities within Bangladesh.
Mohammad Sohail, Chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority, emphasised the significance of the project, stating, “The Multi-Purpose Terminal in Chittagong is a priority for the Government of Bangladesh. It will be a game changer for the regional economy in general and Bangladesh economy in particular. We are pleased to collaborate with AD Ports Group on the development of this vital project, leveraging their expertise and capabilities as a global trade and logistics player.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We are excited to explore the development and operation of the Multi-Purpose Terminal and other ancillary opportunities in Chittagong, the main seaport of Bangladesh.”
The signing of this MoU coincides with the celebration of 50 years of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UAE, and ongoing discussions about a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) aimed at bolstering economic cooperation.
