Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced Nagpur’s designation as India’s potential ‘Logistics Capital’ during the inauguration of the Multimodal Logistics Park at Sindhi Railways. Highlighting Nagpur’s central location and robust infrastructure, Gadkari emphasised its pivotal role in industrial expansion. The event, hosted by the Indian National Highways Authority and National Highways Logistics Management, witnessed the presence of notable figures including MLA Ramdas Tadas and former MLA Suresh Waghmare.
Gadkari outlined plans to integrate industries with the Sindhi Dry Port, facilitating streamlined exports and addressing agricultural challenges. He stressed the significance of Nagpur’s proximity to key transportation routes, including Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and the Nagpur-Mumbai Highway.
Additionally, he emphasised the need for local employment at the Vidarbha Logistics Park and highlighted upcoming infrastructural developments, including improved connectivity between Nagpur and Wardha.
