The two-lane Ram Setu overbridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 102 crore in Balotra city, was dedicated to the public in a ceremony presided over by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari virtually inaugurated the overbridge, with CM Sharma and Dy CM Diya Kumari participating through video conference.
Minister of State for Industry and Commerce Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Kailash Choudhary, along with district officials, public representatives, and social activists attended the event. CM Sharma acknowledged the road expansion efforts in Rajasthan, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport Minister Gadkari. He commended Union MoS for Agriculture Choudhary for development initiatives in the region.
The Ram Setu overbridge, a result of Choudhary’s efforts, is expected to enhance connectivity to Jasol, Nakoda, and Brahm Dham, easing travel for the residents of Balotra city. CM Sharma highlighted PM Modi’s role in strengthening Rajasthan’s highway network, even accommodating emergency airplane landings. Gadkari emphasised the role of road construction in generating employment opportunities and fostering agricultural and economic development.
