In a significant development, the Noida International Airport is on track to complete its runway and air traffic control (ATC) tower by March 2024. The progress was recently reviewed by Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister’s additional chief secretary for Civil Aviation, S P Goyal.
The ATC tower, with eight floors and a height of 30 meters, has already seen six floors completed, with the final two in progress, set to wrap up by February 2024. Simultaneously, the runway construction, which is nearly 70 percent done, is scheduled for completion by February or March 2024.
The airport, a massive project, aims to be India’s largest airport upon its full completion. The first phase of development, covering over 1,300 hectares, is on track to open for commercial operations by the end of next year.
The airport’s development is a collaboration between the Yamuna International Airport and Tata Projects, who are the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners.
