FedEx Express Europe is making strategic moves to accommodate future growth and streamline its operations with the construction of a new logistics facility near Dublin Airport. The upcoming facility, situated at the Horizon Business Park to the south of the airport, will provide 14,561 sq m of warehousing space, featuring 30 loading bays for trucks and 137 loading bays for vans.
In addition to serving as a hub for pickup and delivery services, the facility will handle aircraft operations, customs clearance, and various back-office functions. The company anticipates the facility will become operational in early 2025. FedEx’s expansion is a response to Ireland’s robust exports, which amounted to over €165 billion in 2021.
Furthermore, the facility will be designed with eco-friendly features to minimise its environmental impact, including rooftop solar panels and compliance with the Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standard.
